Here's how to transform your blah bathroom into a beach oasis.
1. White-wash the walls and clean up the floors.
Beach themed bathrooms look best with white walls. If your walls are another color, choose a subtle white that feels calm. Go for a shade that is bright but not blinding. If your walls have scratches, stains, or dings, refresh them! Add a little texture with a sponge if solid white feels too clinical.
If you need to redo the flooring, choose a smooth gray or tan color. Tile is best, but vinyl will also spread the beach vibe. Choose a material with a slight texture.
2. Choose your linens that give a beach vibe.
Select linens that accentuate your beach theme. Look for soft blues and greens for the rugs. Place a beach themed rug around your standing tub and in front of the shower. Choose white, blue and green hand towels. See if you can find hand towels with beach themed embellishments! This will add to the fun.

Adorn the area around your tub with shells and sand jars. You can even incorporate sand from your favorite locations for a personal touch. Place a couple of these items on shelves or around the sink for the best effect.
4. Add the finishing touches.
Now, stand back and take a look at your bathroom. Is there anything that does not contribute to the overall theme? If so, remove it, or modify it to fit. For example, if you have an outdated mirror, give it an update. Or, maybe you have an old, dusty wooden shelf. Now is the time to refresh it with a coat of paint!
