Tuscany, with its numerous natural mineral springs, thermal baths, and spas may seem far away on most days, but why not treat yourself to the next best thing right in your own home? These waters are known for their healing and therapeutic qualities, and with a few additional ingredients, you can turn your own bath water into a relaxing and healing elixir, the Tuscany way.

To bring that sense of a Tuscany therapeutic spring to your own bath, it only requires a few steps. Try any or all of the following:

  • Add mineral bath salts to your bath water. These can be scented or unscented. With your Pelham & White tub half full, add a handful of the salts under the running water. Let it dissolve. Before climbing in, sweep your hand through the water, dispersing the salt throughout.

  • Use additional mineral bath salts as a body scrub. If you have a partner sharing the experience, scrub each other's backs with a concentrated mixture of the salts.

  • Add mud. Not only are the waters of Tuscany therapeutic, but so is the mud. You can add this sensation by smoothing a mineral mud mask on your face as you soak in your mineral enhanced bath.

  • Drink mineral water. Splurge on a bottle of spring water from the Tuscany region. Pour it into your favorite wine glass and sip on it throughout your bath to stay hydrated.

  • Rinse your hair. You can also rinse your hair in the mineral water, to restore its strength and sheen.

Close your eyes and imagine you are in the hills of Tuscany. Maybe look at a few photos or artwork from that area and hold those images in your mind.

Now, think only healing thoughts. Mineral waters are believed to help lower blood pressure, decrease inflammation, and increase your energy and mental alertness. You'll climb out of your mineral bath feeling calm and relaxed, and ready for what comes next.
